The United Mileage Plus® Signature Visa® Card may be the most beneficial for frequent flyers of United that want to earn miles from credit card purchases. Let’s take a look at this card a little further.
Fees
The annual fee is $60 and the APR is as low as 13.24%
Reward Miles
Cardholders of the United Mileage Plus® Signature Visa® earn one mile for each dollar spent on the card. The miles earned are unlimited. This card is the lowest tier of the United credit cards, which also include the Mileage Plus Club Visa, Mileage Plus Access Visa and Mileage Plus Select Visa.
Sign Up Bonuses
New cardholders can earn 25,000 bonus miles after you spend $250 and and additional 5,000 miles when you add an authorized user. The total of 30,000 bonus miles is more than enough miles for a roundtrip Saver Award. You also earn a one-way upgrade certificate and a $25 travel certificate after your first purchase.
Conclusion
Cardholders that fly United frequently may want to look into the other cards that United offers before making a decision. The United Mileage Plus Signature Visa Card has the lowest annual fee of the four cards and offers a relatively generous sign up bonus to get you started. However, unlike the other cards, you cannot earn double miles and neither can you earn elite qualifying miles. The next card up, the United Mileage Plus® Select Visa®, allows you to earn triple points and also an extra 5,000 elite qualifying miles every year. But, if you don’t need the extra miles or you prefer the lower annual fee and fly enough each year to obtain the elite status you like, this card would probably be the one for you.
